Parents Aliyev Biography

After graduating from the year of the Nakhchyansky pedagogical college, he entered the architectural faculty of the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute now - Azerbaijani State University of Oil and Industry, but the beginning of World War II did not allow him to complete his education. In the years, Heydar Aliyev worked at first as the head of the secret part of the archival department in the People's Commissariat of the Interior of the Nakhchivanskaya Autonomous Republic, and then - the head of the general department in the Council of People's Commissars of the Nakhchyansk Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

In May, he was sent to work in state security agencies. After studying in the years at the school of training of managing personnel of the State Security Committee of the USSR in Leningrad now, St. Petersburg was appointed head of the department in the State Security Committee of the Azerbaijan SSR. In the year he graduated from the correspondence department of the Faculty of History of Azerbaijan State University now - Baku State University.

In the year he was appointed head of the counterintelligence department of the State Security Committee, and in the year - deputy chairman of the KGB of the Azerbaijan SSR. In the year he was appointed chairman of the State Security Committee under the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR, in the same year he was awarded the title of Major General.

Working in this position, Heydar Aliyev led the most important areas of the economic, social and cultural life of the USSR. In October, in protest against the political course held by the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and personally, Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev, he resigned from his posts. In protest against the two -faced policy of the leadership of the USSR in connection with the acute conflict situation that arose in Nagorno -Karabakh, he left the ranks of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

He worked in this position for up to a year. At the Constituent Conference of the Eni Azerbaijan party, which was on November 21 in the city of Nakhchyan, Heydar Aliyev was elected chairman of the party. In the May-June of the year, a threat of civil war and the loss of independence arose in the country, so the Azerbaijani people made a demand for the return of Heydar Aliyev to power, and the then leadership of the country was forced to invite him to Baku.

In the elections held on October 11 with the high activity of the people, he gained 76.1 percent of the vote and was again elected president of the Republic of Azerbaijan. By agreeing to the nomination of his candidacy in the presidential election held on October 15, Heydar Aliyev, in connection with the problems with health problems, withdrew his candidacy in favor of Ilham Aliyev.

Heydar Aliyev was awarded the Order of Lenin five times, the Order of the Red Star of the former USSR and numerous medals, was twice awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, as well as the highest awards of various countries, honorary titles of authoritative universities.
