Berezovsky musician Biography
It is considered one of the first creators of a choral concert in the Russian Empire. Childhood and youth in early years in the biography of the composer are slightly illuminated. It was reliably not possible to establish even a year of his birth. According to various estimates of biographers, it may be, or a year - the latter is considered an official option.
And the day of the birth of Maxim is believed on October 16 according to a new style. There is no clarity with the place of birth either. Presumably the boy was born in Glukhov, the Little Russian province, in the family of a small nobleman or nobleman Zonon Berezovsky.
Researchers discovered a family emblem of Berezovsky, indicating a Polish origin. Presumably, the family had another son - Pavel Sozontovich, whose descendants continued the family to this day. The childhood of Maxim was supposedly passed in Glukhov. There are versions that it was there that he comprehended the basics of choral art. In the city in those years, there was a choral department, preparing soloists for the St.
Petersburg Chapel. A little more is known about the young years of Berezovsky. It is assumed that after school, Maxim continued to study after graduation from the Glukhovsky Music School at the Kyiv Theological Academy. But whether he accepted the rank, is not known for certain. The first reliable information about Maxim Berezovsky can be found in the documents of the year.
They contain information about his admission to the position of a singer in a chapel in Oranienbaum. The young man participated in opera productions in Italian. His name is found in the surviving libretto of that time. In the year, Maxim enters the Italian chapel at the emperor's palace. Here his teacher was the famous vocalist Garani. And additionally, the young man took lessons from the director of the chapel of Zopopri.
The biography of Berezovsky also includes references to his teaching composer art among famous court masters of that time. Soon, Maxim creates his first independent works. During this period of his life, Maxim composes mainly church music - songs and concerts on religious topics, for choral and acapelous performance. It was the absence of instrumental support that was further the basis for the creativity of the composer.
He sought to bring his music to the spiritual canons of the Orthodox tradition, where the melody also does not accompany choral singing. According to contemporaries, Berezovsky succeeded in creativity. His works were compared with Cantilena. And the next step in the creative experiments of the young composer was even more complex works - cantata. The exact dating is difficult due to the fact that the manuscript versions were not printed, but dispersed by samizdat.
The concert gained well -deserved popularity. He was repeatedly performed in public. According to other sources in the year, Maxim enters the Bologna Philharmonic Academy, in the direction of the imperial court. He graduated from the educational institution at the mentoring of Giovanni Martini, having received a diploma with honors. His teacher, a clergyman, was the famous violinist, harpsichord, musicologist, very respected and authoritative.
Interestingly, the same Academy a few months before Maxim left another famous graduate - Wolfgang Mozart. As a graduation, Berezovsky, together with a classmate, thought a polyphonic play for four votes. The original musical score is stored in the archive of the Academy. At the end of study, in the year, Maxim became a member of the Philharmonic community of graduates. With the rank of academician, he could already claim much higher positions.
Creativity of the subsequent years, a graduate of the Philharmonic Academy Berezovsky lives in Italy. Here N writes his first and only opera - “Demophot” with the libretto of the Italian Metastasio. She was successfully placed in Livorno in the year. The opera was created in the classical tradition of that time, quite consistent with the tastes of the Italian public.
Maxim created it for the traditional carnival, arranged in winter. Then Berezovsky went to Pisa and Venice. Here he continued his studies, received a scholarship for his efforts. During this period of his work, he created 3 sonatas for a clavier and a symphony. Interestingly, the notes of works were discovered by Italian archivists, much later. It is assumed that a concert and, possibly, the cantata was also written.
But their fate remains unknown. After that, Maxim returns to Petersburg. In the year, he entered the post of employee of the Imperial Theater, and after 8 months he took the post of dropmaster of the court chapel - a responsible and very honorable position. For a new appointment, Maxim Sozontovich needed to pass the exam. Fortunately, Italian education was enough.
Biographers suggest that Maxim was released from the Bologna Academy as a dropmaster. The new purpose is contrary to the statements of the early biographers that Berezovsky did not receive recognition from contemporaries. The composer’s own dissatisfaction was caused by the fact that in Russia of that time there were simply no educational institutions that corresponded to his academic status.
So, there was no one to pass experience. They may be familiar.
