Brief biography Chatsky

Chatsky: What do you need to know about the main character of "grief from the mind" a lone fighter for the truth or a rejected loser? The author of the material: Ekaterina Burakova The famous play by Alexander Griboedov, who ended with him in the year, was dismantled for quotes long before going out into the official seal. Contrary to the prohibitions of censorship for publication and theatrical performances of Wretched the Wit, manuscript copies of lightning speed spread among the reading residents of Moscow and St.

Petersburg. The unusual hero caused anger among some and the delight of the other inhabitants of the “high world”, and his sharpness and directness surprised no less than the innovative techniques of the author-playwright. The fact that Chatsky actually is, even then literary disputes were carried out. This character is not forgotten and now, almost years after his “birth”. What attracts to readers from different eras the image of Chatsky?

At the same time, Alexander Andreevich became one of the first Russian literary heroes who dared to openly contrast themselves with society. The guardian of the early orphaned young man, Pavel Afanasevich Famusov, did not regret the funds to give him a European education, but his ward did not accept the views of the older generation. Three years of travel also affected the worldview of the attentive Chatsky.

Having matured, he only saw mistakes in managing his native country and gaps in the intellectual and cultural development of representatives of Moscow society. Mothers and fathers, preoccupied only with how to quickly “attach” the brush daughter as soon as possible; Young fashionables and young ladies of middle-aged ladies, full of mutual envy and hydraulicity; The military, who receive all new ranks and orders for the patient expectation of an excommunication or the death of others; The hypocritical helpfulness of young officials and the militant ignorance of the old landowners - all this is terribly annoyed by Chatsky, and he openly declares how he is disgusting both the condemnation and the praise of these people.

The hero convicts fraudsters, flatterers and ignoramuses, protecting those who seek to master knowledge and art. At first, a sincere, impulsive and mocking hero, who is “nauseous”, at first even refuses to recognize the opponent in a “wordless”, helpful and cold careerist. But then he sees perfectly what is hidden from the eyes of Sophia itself: it is a “sorry creating” that receives ranks and universal disposition for the ability to flatter, “moderation and accuracy” cannot be a worthy party for such a girl.

The daughter of Famusov, blinded by a feeling of silence and offended on Chatsky for his long absence, accepts flattery, resourcefulness and spinelessness of Alexei Stepanovich for kindness, altruism and modesty. She, unlike Chatsky, does not understand that “silence bliss in the world” only thanks to their hypocrisy, and there is nothing to think about virtue and hard work. Chatsky and Sophia the sincere sense of the protagonist was no less problem for him than a conflict with society.

Recognizing that he had “a mind with a heart is not in Lada,” he behaved inconsistently with his lover, while harshly criticizing all her relatives and surprised at the response coldness to him. Chatsky and Sophia grew together - and that meant a lot for them. But by his own free will, having left his native lands for three whole years, for some reason Alexander Andreevich did not consider it necessary to write to the girl at least once, naively believing that a long separation would not harm their relationship.

But the eternal ridicule and the slander of Chatsky still touch and upset her. At first, she tries to prick her former lover: “Has it happened that you laugh? But then it is finally disappointed in it and decides to take revenge on the insult, dismissing the rumor about Chatsky’s insanity overnight.

He remains faithful to himself - and in the most cruel way, Sophia's eye opens up to the true essence of Molchalin. The fate of young people finally diverge: the hated Chatsky society absorbs Sophia, and he himself retires from him. Winner or defeated? Having changed the canons of classicism in his play, Griboedov endowed Chatsky with the features of a realistic and romantic hero.

In part, therefore, in the final, the character is forced to leave the Higher Light and leave Moscow, having lost both the previous love and the remnants of the location of others. But the question of who, in the end, Chatsky remains - the winner or defeated - is not as simple as it seems at first glance. On the one hand, in the final “grief from the mind”, the thing is completely not characteristic of the comedies of that time: the vice remains unpunished, and the only positive hero ceases to prove his case.

On the other hand, the “Famus” society is not able to “break” Chatsky, and he remains himself: well -read, honest, truthful, who wish others not in words, but in practice. The hero was so alive and believable that the opinions of critics were divided into his account. While Alexander Pushkin and Mikhail Dmitriev, openly sympathizing with Chatsky, nevertheless refused him in his mind, Ivan Goncharov considered him a full -fledged winner who inflicted a “deadly blow” according to the old orders and paved the way for positive changes for others.
