Mikhail Alexandrovich Sadovsky was born on October 24 in St. Petersburg. In the year he graduated from the Physics and Mechanical Department of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. Mikhail Alexandrovich was appointed deputy director of the Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, also the head of the special sector for the experimental study of all the parameters of the nuclear explosion.

In addition to the preparation of equipment, it was necessary to solve the issue of the place of organization of the landfill to test the first nuclear charge. With the direct participation of M. Sadovsky, a district was chosen in a deserted steppe area, kilometers from the city of Semipalatinsk.
