Author Harms Biography

St. Petersburg 2nd Krasnoarmeyskaya St. His experimental works of contemporaries did not have and appeared in print only many years after his death, revealing the true literary and alternative face of the writer. The first published poem “The Superior Council Cossack on the Railway” appeared in the almanac of the Union of Poets, but after the “adults” poems almost did not print him.

Harms liked to talk about his birth, and in the thirties he wrote playful narratives about his birth, two of which sounded as follows: I was born in a reed. Like a mouse. My mother gave birth to me and put me in the water. And I swam. Some kind of fish, with a four mustache on the nose, was spinning near me. I cried. And the fish cried. Suddenly we saw that porridge was floating on the water.

We ate this porridge and began to laugh. We were very fun, we sailed with the flow and met cancer. It was an ancient, great cancer, he kept an ax in his claws another option, so my dad married my mother in the year, but my parents made me only at the end of the year, because dad wanted his child to be born for New Year's Eve. Dad calculated that the conception should occur on April 1 and only on this day drove up to his mother with a proposal to conceive a child.

The first time dad drove up to my mother on April 1st year. Mom had been waiting for this moment for a long time and was terribly delighted. But dad, apparently, was in a very playful mood and could not resist and said to his mother: “With the first April! Mom was terribly offended and on this day did not let her dad to her. I had to wait until next year. In the year, on April 1, dad began to drive up to his mother again with the same proposal.

But my mother, remembering last year’s case, said that now she no longer wants to stay in a stupid position, and again did not let her dad to her. No matter how much dad was raging, nothing helped. And only a year later, my dad managed to break my mom and conceive me ... Then the story turned into a funny detective story, at the end of which Harms called the date of his birth.

From early childhood, Danya tried to be like his father-nor-perch. At the age of twenty, Ivan Pavlovich was preparing for the attempt on Emperor Alexander III, but was arrested by the denunciation of the traitor of the "people's will". He was sentenced to death, but she was replaced with 15 years of hard labor. Returning to St. Petersburg, he began to write spiritual books, worked as an inspector in the management of Sberkass, was a corresponding member of the main physical observatory of the Academy of Sciences.

He was familiar with Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov, Maximilian Voloshin, became the prototype of the heroes of some works of the classics, for example, the Chekhov’s “story of an unknown man” and Tolstoy’s story “Divine and Human”. Mom, Nadezhda Ivanovna, provided assistance to exile, in charge of "asylum for women who left the prisons of St. Petersburg." She himself belonged to the old noble family from the Saratov province, where its parents belonged to several villages.

Ivan Pavlovich and Nadezhda Ivanovna had four children, two died in infancy. Only Daniel and his youngest sister Elizabeth for 5 years remained alive. The Yuvachevs lived in a state -owned apartment in a shelter building. Though they lived well, but they spared nothing for his son and daughter: they hired tutors in music, English and German. In February, the mother of Dani wrote to her father: we are sitting in fear that we will be left without bread, all bakeries are closing, people are angry, they are going to smash the shops, as if there was a sense of Dani's school, there are no classes with teachers daily because of the cold.

Which school was studying at the Harms before the revolution, its biographers failed to find out, but in the year Daniel entered the oldest school of Petrograd Petershule. Despite innate abilities, he studied through his sleeves, preferring to play teachers. Then he called himself an orphan and asked not to offend, not to put him a deuce, then he played in Valtorne in the middle of the lesson.

At home he was talking with the imaginary "mutterhen", which he "settled", to bewilderment of domestic, under a stone staircase. In the year, Harms was offered to leave the school. Parents sent him to the children's village under the eye to the aunts of Natalia Yuvacheva, who was in charge of the second single labor school. The director tried to preserve the tradition of the Mariinsky gymnasium in this school, located there before the revolution.

Here, Harms took part in theatrical productions, literary evenings, at which poetic work, in particular, Alexander Blok was discussed. During this period, Danya himself began to write poetry, created puns. It was then that he wrote the famous “Discovery for the task for ladies! Then the teenager began to invent pseudonyms, including Harms. He gave this name a mystical meaning, and it remained with the poet forever.

There were few boys at school, and the girls surrounded them with their attention. But few managed to attract the attention of Dani. He was friends only with Nuta Zegzhda and Nikolai Efimov, talked with them later.Daniel stood out greatly among other children, which was later confirmed by his classmate, who later became the director of the museum and the Pushkinist, Maria Semenova-Rudenskaya: when Danya Yuvachev appeared in our class for the first time, even the classroom became less, it seemed so big to us.

Danya was not at all like boys, which we usually used to see around him. Dressed, I remember, in a brown suit with specking, in trousers to knees, in golfs and huge boots, he seemed completely an adult young man. His jacket was unbuttoned, a vest of the same fabric is visible. From a small pocket of the vest, a chain was descended from the clock, on which, as we later found out, the shark's tooth hung.

Three single-grader boys immediately recognized the championship of a new comrade. They looked almost with adoration at Daniel and surrounded him during the break between the lessons. The boys usually went behind a cool board, where Danya hummed bass and beat off the tank. Because of the board, we saw his legs in golfs and bars and heard the words of the popular song then: “Mom, mom, what we will do when the winter of the cold will come”, which Danya sang in German.

But Daniil talked little with the girls, and the boys who adored him, the “pauses” were not too interesting to him. He lived in his world, there was some kind of inner work in him. The gloomy, vicious, laconic, he is the work of Daniil Harms Galerist and publisher Ildar Galeev, who studied the work of Daniil Harms and published his father’s diaries, said the following: diaries - a kind of introduction or preface to the fact that it was further developed, and without this preface it is difficult to understand the sources of Daniil Ivanovich’s work, the basis of his imagery and thinking.

All friends of Harms, including Vsevolod Nikolaevich Petrov, noted the huge influence of his father on his son. Their meetings were real ceremonies. Ivan Pavlovich writes that, they say, Danya came to me, I had an hour, we talked with him about God, about three six, about Gustava Mayinka and so on. Daniil Ivanovich brought him a book by Boehm so that dad read it and then express his thoughts.

Dad returns the book with the words "Sorry, son, I did not understand anything - neither Beh nor Me." They constantly talked. Yes, it was, of course, destroying criticism from his father, he did not understand and did not accept what Daniel was doing. But in this criticism, apparently, there was something that without which Harms would not become Harms. The influence of his father, who did not understand the revolutionary works of his son, played a role in the fact that Harms moved away from the family.

He read Knut Gamsun and the occultist Gustav Meirinka, who was interested in yoga and Indian teachings. It was his “golem” that made a young Daniel, who adored secret -painting, an indelible impression. Harms assured himself that letters and signs have endless force, and the material world can change unpredictably and quickly. Meanwhile, Harms graduated from school, the question arose of further education.

Only immigrants from workers and peasants could study at the university for free, and Daniel was not part of these categories. Ivan Pavlovich, who at that time, who worked as the head of the accounting department of the Volkhovstroy working committee, wrote a letter to the administration: my son Daniel, 19 years old, having graduated from the Soviet school of the II, harassment of entering one of the Leningrad technical schools of the sea, electric, etc.

For his part, I ask the Volovovstroy working committee to render possible to my son for admission to the Higher in the Higher Educational institution. The request of the old people of the people was satisfied, and Daniel was admitted to exams in the first Leningrad electrical engineering. He signed an application for admission by a double surname: Yuvachev-Harms.

Almost without appearing in the classroom, the young man visited all kinds of literary evenings, where he performed not only with strangers in particular - Vladimir Mayakovsky and Igor Severyanin, but also with his verses. Since the year, the Harms participated in the meetings of the All -Russian Union of Poets, where he met the experimenters of “Zaumi” - deliberately aum language as a literary technique.

Veleemir Khlebnikov, Alexey Kruchenkh, Alexander Tufanov and others invented their own language to write new poetry, who also interested Harms. Since the year, Daniel tried to create the societies of “left” poets and writers, called “officials”, organized the lithobobes “left flank”, “Academy of Left Classics”. In addition to holding literary evenings, Harms, along with the avant -garde theater "Radix" tried to put the play he wrote "My Mom is all in the watch." Casimir Malevich became interested in the performance, who created suitable scenery for him.

The production of Glavlit did not pass the censorship of the Glavlit, it was banned, and the theater was closed. The manifesto of the association in particular read: who are we? And why are we? We, Oberiuts, are honest workers of our art. We are poets of the new attitude and new art. We are the creators of not only a new poetic language, but also the creators of a new sense of life and its objects.

Our will to creativity is universal: it overlaps all kinds of art and breaks into life, covering it from all sides.
