Every time I sit down to write something new, I feel as if I had never done this before. I almost do not give concerts. But even recording albums, I can’t imagine in advance how people can react. It scares.

I will give a strange example.

I wrote a Cloudbusting song for Hounds of Love album, and a line occurred to me: “I feel something bad will happen.” At that very minute, the wasp flew into the window and almost stung me. Osa turned around and cleaned up. And the song became a hit. What helps me write music? I find out different myths. For example, about Lake Tahot in the United States. They say that sometimes on the shore people see the figure of a woman who drowned once, but since the water in the lake is incredibly cold, she did not die, but mothballed and sometimes comes out of the water to the surface.

It seems to me that each of us is trying not to drown in the modern world, too overloaded with smartphones, constant messages, IWLS. We have nowhere to find shelters. I wanted people to be next to me, and not on the other side of the camera. We tried: we built the light, thought out a scenography, costumes. Do not think what is happening on the stage at that moment, but only to try to shoot it is so obsessively.

I feel the depression of the musical industry. Records are poorly sold. But to be afraid that musical albums will die is rather strange. I love albums. There is nothing surprising in the fact that people load music from the Internet and listen to tracks - this is just another experience. But a collection of songs written by an artist for one album is not just a set of tracks.

The worst thing is when the musician loses the opportunity to create what he wants, for the sake of the musical industry, which requires only profit. An ideal life scenario is to do how you feel and hope that it will be interesting. In my youth, I loved the music that my brother performed. They formed my taste. But the British folk music exerted much more influence on me.

I never stop for a long time, I just enter the deeper to whom for some time. We cannot protect art - it is too vulnerable. Stephen Hawking once said that Planet Earth is still a thousand years old.
